An homage to my heritage, I painted these two matryoshka dolls that moved with my family from Russia in 2001. The hand-painted details always mesmerized me. I grew up playing with them, imagining just how sassy they truly are. You can see what the glued prints looked like after I airbrushed and before I went in with gouache.
