The sable is the animal my ancestors hunted for work. My last name Soboleva is a gift from my mother. Her father was named Aleg Sobolev and he died when she was young so I never got to meet him. My parents un-traditionally gave me my mother’s last name instead of my father’s and I am very proud to carry it with me.
