Career Day in 2025

My wonderful friend Amanda Williams is an artist and also a full time 5th grade teacher! She has many students interested in the arts so she asked me to come in and talk about my career as an artist at her school, Fields Road Elementary School. I came in and gave a presentation for three fifth grade classes, and answered all of their great questions. I met a nurse, a policeman and a horse-trainer who also came to share about their experiences in their respective fields.

I felt really lucky and proud to have this opportunity. When I was in elementary school I didn’t have role models who were artists and I think being exposed to this pathway young make it feels more feasible. I feel really grateful for my artistic community, and for Amanda, Angela and Pearl. These incredible artists are doing wonderful things and inspiring the next generation to pursue art in their lives!
